Mariners medal named

At a General Meeting held on Friday 24 August 2012, the proposal to institute an annual Mariners Player Of The Year Medal was approved unanimously by the members present.

Following a vote by all members the medal was officially named “The Damien Brown Men Of Football Medal”. Damien is a local Central Coast personality who has played his entire football career on the Coast and has represented the district in al ages from 12 years and upwards. He was a member of the successful Central Coast Coasties team that played in the NSW Super league in the late 90’s and early 2000 years. He was the very first player signed by the Central Coast Mariners when the club was formed in 2005 and today is still with the Mariners, employed as the Club’s Youth Development Officer.

It was also decided that the Medal should be presented to the selected Mariners player, at the end of each A-league season, at a special dinner function.

The player will be selected by a voting system carried out by all members on a weekly basis at the conclusion of each Mariners A-league match.
